Lodging Your Tax Return
- When filing your tax return, you grant us permission to access your records through the ATO Portal. You can provide these records via our website, mobile app, email, phone, or in-person. While the details we retrieve from the ATO portal may be inaccurate or incomplete, we require your verification and any additional relevant information, such as additional Group certificates/PAYG summaries, Capital Gains, Rental summaries, Business worksheets, etc.
- We will reach out to you through various means (website, mobile app, email, phone, or in-person) to ensure that we claim all work-related expenses to maximise your refund or minimise your tax debt, all in accordance with Australian taxation law. We offer a free estimate, and if you're dissatisfied with our services, no charges will be applied, and we will not submit your tax return.
- Final submission will occur once we've collected our fees (either upfront payment or deducted from your refund), confirmed your identification, verified your bank account details, and ensured that your tax return is error-free. Refunds typically take 7 to 10 working days to process, although longer processing times may occur if you have tax debt with the tax office or other government agencies.
- If your original submission is incorrect or if you've forgotten to report additional information, amendments can be made within two years from the date your Notice of Assessment is issued by the ATO.
- Your personal information will be safeguarded in accordance with the Privacy Act and will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law or necessary to provide the services for which we've been engaged. We are legally obligated to protect your personal information. Please refer to Our Privacy Policy for further details on how we handle your personal information.
Your Obligations
- By signing this declaration, you affirm that you will provide accurate and complete details of your income, including sources such as salary, capital gains, government allowances and pensions, interest, dividends, royalties, business income, and foreign income. You acknowledge that we have explained the relevant provisions of the Income Tax Act concerning income and expenses applicable to you before lodging with the Australian Taxation Office. You are aware that severe penalties apply under taxation laws for providing false or misleading information.
- You declare that you possess the necessary receipts/records for the deductions/rebates claimed in your tax return(s) or Business Activity Statement (BAS) or Quarterly Superannuation. You understand your obligation to retain income/deduction evidence for a minimum of five years, and you acknowledge that the Australian Taxation Office may penalise or prosecute you for failure to produce receipts or for incorrect/misleading tax returns. To benefit from "safe harbor" protections, you agree to provide us with all relevant taxation information necessary for accurate reporting to the Australian Tax Office. For work-related expenses exceeding $300, you understand the requirement for written evidence. All income/deductions/rebates in your tax return are based on your instructions and confirmation that you meet relevant taxation requirements.
- You release us and our staff from liability arising from any audit or investigation regarding undeclared income or excessive claims made in your tax return.
- If our fees are not paid upfront and are to be deducted from your tax refund, you authorise the transfer of your tax refund to our trust account. You understand that you will receive your tax refund after deducting our fees, with any surplus deposited into your nominated bank account via electronic transfer.
- D.L.I Tax is a Registered Tax Agent (Tax Agent no 25728753) or TaxSav (Tax Agent no 26257244) authorised by the Australian Tax Office to lodge Income Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS), or Quarterly Superannuation.
Authorisation to Lodge Income Tax Return
- I confirm that I have received copies of the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and relevant tax documents including the Tax Return, Tax Invoice, and/or Business Activity Statement (BAS) and/or Quarterly Superannuation. Any fees payable from the refund can be deducted from the tax agent’s trust account, with the remaining balance transferred back to my nominated bank account. I acknowledge and agree that these figures are accurate.
- In the event that the service fee is not paid upfront, I authorise the tax refund to be directed to the Registered Tax Agent’s trust account. I understand that I will receive the balance of my tax refund only after the tax agent has deducted its fees and transferred the remainder to me.
- I have carefully read and accept the terms and conditions outlined above. I hereby authorise D.L.I Tax (Tax Agent no. 25728753) or TaxSav (Tax Agent no. 26257244) to prepare and lodge my Income Tax Return, and/or Business Activity Statement (BAS) or Quarterly Superannuation.
